Since Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications announced about the WiMax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) services in Malaysia, most of the internet users are looking forward for the service. After a long wait, this service will be launched in the third quarter of 2008. This service is offered to boost Malaysia’s broadband penetration and soon Malaysians will enjoy greater mobility when accessing internet. The front runners who begged the licensing for WiMax is, Packet One Networks, Redtone-CNX Broadband, Asiaspace Dotcom and Bizsurf.

WiMAX can be used for wireless networking in much the same way as the more common WiFi protocol. So laptops users are no longer needed a WiFi access point in order to access Internet. They can use Internet from anywhere, if they subscribe to the WiMax service. Home users are no need to be tied to modem and phone line cause for WiMax there is no phone line needed to access Internet. Most of them will be thinking this kind of services will be expensive. But it is not, every provider will cater different types of packages to different type of targeted user. So you are one who going to decide which package best suits for you. So look out for WiMax in Malaysia soon.

well, its a new hope though.
but if they got those bandwidth from TM, their service couldn’t be anywhere good
Yeah..but somehow..they will provide a good service to stand out in the market..If they provide those bandwidth from Streamyx, then they will be no where in the market..rite..
